I think that the play could be offensive concerning the fairy world. I think that Puck felt he had to apologize since he had orignally messed everything up. In a way, I think he felt like he had to make sure everyone knew that this play was not real, so he told everyone it was just a dream. In a way, if the whole story was just a dream, no one would think that Puck or any other fairies would come into their lives and mess up their love and relationships.

I think the play might have been offensive to the audience because of its rude, sexual jokes. Also, the play makes love seem fake in the way that the fairies have the ability to make certain people fall in love using the flower, and the way they cheat on eachother. The play doesn't really take love seriously which might offend some.

I think that he is appoligizing for his playing around with peoples love life. He toys with love as if it were a box of legos, this goes here, and he loves her. This also is very rude how he changes the head of a respected man into that of an ass, and then proceeds to mock him by having a fairy goddess fall in love with him.

I have to agree with kaitlan that the play does not really say anything good about love because the characters think they are in love with someone else and two seconds later they have realized they are in love with another person. So i think that Puck is apologizing because the play makes it seem like you have to go through so much trouble to be in love and this really is not how love is suppose to be.

Also he doesnt want to ruin the wedding which is created by love and the feelings someone has for someone else. I think that Puck is trying to tell us that he messed up and wants to fix it. He messed with the humans and is now feeling guilty about the whole thing(whatever he did). Wow...well I have to agree with a lot of the people here. To start off, Kaitlan said that they are apologizing for not saying anything good about love. That is an excellent observation. I would have never thought of that! David also brings up an excellent point of that the play causes a lot of sadness. But i look at this in more of a play type of apologizing. Puck is is still playing his role and when he says he is sorry for if the play offeded anyone then they should not worry for the play shall only be remembered as a dream. This line makes the audience feel as if they were a part of the play and they go home happy and wondering what in the name of OBERON just happened?

I think he would be concerned because like kaitlan w said, it does not portray love in a very good light. Everyone is fighting. Oberon is using magic against the woman he's supposed to love. Also, I think the dreams could be seen as offensive when things change from what they seem. It's sort of a roller coaster for what's going on. One minute everything is fine; the next minute, everything is caotic. I think this is really Shakespeare's apology to the audience through Puck because he really cared about what others thought of him.

I can see how this play could be offensive because of the way it kind of makes fun of people in love. They make love seem like a joke or game and that it is something you can just let go of. Puck plays jokes on some of the people and it kind of messes up thier lives/relationships.

I think what Puck is saying is that we did screw up these humans lives but we mended or made sure they went back to normal again. Or he fixed them for the better, but I can't really say that because I don't know how the play ends. I agree with Leah that he's apoligizing because he feels that he has offended the audience but I don't think it's the rude jokes, or the launguage. I think it's because how the faries mess everything up in the play and the play doesn't potray love in the classic Romeo and Juliet way, lol. Anyway, it seems to make lovers seem foolish and humans to be as well.

To me I think people take this play offensively, because evry onee makes mistakes, everyone not just in the play but in real life, sure everyone is cheating on everybody else, but isn't that just like our lives today. I mean, everyone has their little relationships, and their wrong doings, and this play makes them look at their mistakes, and people don't like admitting their own mistakes.

I think that the play could be offensinve because people cheat on eachother. This in some religions is very unaccepted. I also think that on the same thought, that people might not like the lies and mistakes that really effect people. The immortals are interesting and tricky. In my opinion the play may have been offensive because, it doesn't say anything good about love. The people who are married don't get along, they fight a lot, and the people who they do love are getting married to eachother. The only people who are happily in love get their true love ruined by a fairy. Out of the other characters some are in love with people who don't love them, and some just have no love at all. To sum up the love in the play is all messed up which some people would be unhappy about.
